Jamie McLeod-Skinner talks about her background, her story, and why she’ll make a great Oregon Secretary of State. We asked Jamie 36 questions — one for each of Oregon’s 36 counties.

Question: What’s your favorite thing about being a rural Oregonian?
Jamie McLeod-Skinner: It’s probably the thing that’s true for all of Oregonians. It’s the sense of it’s people and it’s the sense of being both independent and interdependent, relying in each other and being proud of who we are.
Question: What did you do for the International Rescue Committee?
Jamie McLeod-Skinner: I managed the reconstruction and repair of schools and hospitals in post-war Bosnia and Kosovo. When I returned to the States, I managed their refugee resettlement office in San Jose.
